  9. It's 1 tbsp of sesame seeds.

A vegetarian version of the popular bulgogi. I've been told that in Korea, this dish is referred to as Bulgogi and translates to 'fire meat." After some experimenting, I settled on a combination of veggie crumbles (I used Gardein Beefless Ground), cremini mushrooms and onions. When the mushrooms are cooked, they have a meaty flavor and texture and dark color that boosts the flavor and appearance of the dish. Once the Korean sauce is added, this vegan bulgogi tastes very authentic.

Vegan veggie bulgogi step by step

  1. Fry veggies till almost soft in coconut oil.
  2. Add garlic, salt and bulgogi and fry a little more.
  3. Add water and turn off heat but keep on stove to thicken.
  4. Serve with cous cous or rice and sesame seeds.
